12 testers. 14 days. One to spare.
A round of 14 Android developers. You test their apps. They test yours.
13 testers for your Google Play closed test, with daily reminders and replacements when someone stops.
13 of 14 founding places left. Reciprocal testing required. See the workload and no reciprocal testing option.
How a round runs
Join
Paste your closed test's opt-in link, add the Google account you test with, and take a free founding place (after the founding round, $20).
Your round fills
When 14 developers have joined, everyone gets the other 13 Google accounts to add to their tester list in Play Console, and their apps' opt-in links.
Fourteen days
Every morning you get the 13 apps to open, about ten minutes, and a check-in. Anyone who misses two days in a row is replaced.
Apply for production
When 12 of your testers have each had 14 days, usually on day 15, we tell you to apply in Play Console. Google asks about your closed test and what you learned from it; our guide walks through the questions.
Ways to join
Free
Founding round
Test the other apps in your round. The first 14 confirmed developers join free.
After the free founding places: $20 per app, once.
13 apps a day, up to 15 with a replacement or an app with no reciprocal testing; 14 days, up to 28; then stay opted in another week.
Join the round$29
No reciprocal testing
Your app gets 13 testers. You test nothing. One app per round; no start date is promised.
You still add the testers' accounts in Play Console and keep your app installable. Each round carries one such app, so yours waits for the next round with room: 0 waiting now. We cannot promise a start date.
Choose no reciprocal testingIncluded in every round
- 13 testers
- Daily reminders
- Drop-outs replaced
- Application guidance
We form your round, send tester accounts and opt-in links, track daily check-ins, replace anyone who misses two days in a row, and tell you when to apply. Paid places can be fully refunded on request until their round starts. Applicable tax is added at checkout.
Join the founding round, free
The first 14 developers to confirm by email join free: 13 of 14 places left. Everyone in the round tests the others, founding members too. A round starts when 14 testing developers have joined: 1 waiting now. Apps with no reciprocal testing join the next round with room, one per round: 0 waiting now, so a new one has 0 ahead of it.
Questions
Are the testers real?
Yes. Every tester is an Android developer in the same spot as you, with their own Google account and phone. We never use our own accounts, emulators or bought accounts.
When does my round start?
When 14 developers have joined. Your page shows how many are waiting. Until your round starts you can ask for a full refund there.
What do I have to do?
Add the 13 accounts we send you to your tester list, join the other apps through their opt-in links, then open each app once a day and check in, about ten minutes: 13 apps a day, up to 15 with a replacement or an app with no reciprocal testing; 14 days, up to 28; then stay opted in another week. With no reciprocal testing you only add the testers' accounts in Play Console and keep your app installable.
What if a tester stops?
Your app has 13 testers, one more than the 12 Google needs, so one drop-out doesn't cost you. Anyone who misses two days in a row is replaced and you get the new tester's account to add. A replacement counts from the day they opt in, so your test runs on until 12 of your testers have each had 14 days, at most 28 days. If it still falls short, a paid place chooses a full refund or one free rerun (the guarantee in the terms), and a founding place gets one free rerun.
Can I skip the testing?
Yes, for $29: no reciprocal testing. Your app gets 13 testers from a round of developers who test, with the same check-ins and replacements. Each round carries one app with no reciprocal testing, so yours waits for the next round with room, and we cannot promise when that is. Full refund on request until it starts.
Does this guarantee production access?
No. Google decides production access, and it also looks at your app and your answers. Test Rounds gets you the 12 testers for 14 days that Google requires.
Why pay when there are free swaps?
Free swaps work for many developers. What a round adds: we form the group, send a list and a check-in every morning, track each tester's days, keep one spare tester, replace anyone who misses two days in a row, and stand behind it with the guarantee in the terms. If you would rather swap, our free swap board is for that.

Test Rounds terms
- Founding round: while it is open, the first 14 developers to confirm by email join free, one place per app, Google account and email; for a founding place your Google account is also your updates email, where the confirmation goes. These terms apply to founding members too, except that there is nothing to pay or refund.
- You pay $20 once per app. Applicable tax is added at checkout. ThreadFox is a RevenuePack product.
- Your app joins the next round of 14 developers. A round starts when it is full; until then you can ask for a full refund from your page.
- A round is 14 developers who start together and test each other's apps over the same days. You open each app on your list once a day and check in, until we tell you it is done: 14 days, or up to 28 for an app that had a tester replaced. Then stay opted in to its test (do not leave it) for another week, so its developer can apply for production with their testers still opted in. You may also be given one more app, to step in for a tester who stopped in another round. Your round may also carry one app with no reciprocal testing (below), tested by 13 of its 14 members.
- A member who misses two days in a row is replaced as a tester. Their own app keeps the testers it has until they have had their 14 days, but gets no more replacements and no extension, the guarantee does not apply, and there is no refund once a round has started.
- We send everyone's tester accounts and opt-in links, a daily list and check-in, and replacements for testers who stop, during your app's first 13 days (a later replacement could not have its 14 days by day 28). Your app's test runs until 12 of its testers have each had 14 days, counted from each tester's first check-in, at most 28 days from the start.
- The Test Rounds guarantee, for a paid place: if your round cannot document 12 testers each opted in for 14 days in a row by day 28, you choose a full refund or one free rerun. The record is ours, from the check-ins: each tester's days count from their first check-in on a list that showed your app, and a tester replaced for missed check-ins stops counting. When your app falls short we email you the choice with that record; it stays open for 30 days, on your page, and it is withdrawn if you stop checking in on the apps you still test. A refund is the whole payment, tax included, made by hand back to your card. It does not apply if you stopped checking in as a tester; if you closed or paused your closed test, or removed the testers we sent, before day 28; if you asked for a refund before your round started or disputed the payment; or to a free place (a founding place gets one free rerun, and a free rerun that falls short goes to support). Google's decision on production access is not a trigger on its own: the guarantee covers the testers, not Google's answer.
- No reciprocal testing: you pay $29 once per app and do not test; you add the testers' accounts in Play Console and keep your app installable. Your app joins the next round with room for one; each round of 14 testing developers carries at most one, tested by 13 of them, so it may wait for several rounds and your page shows how many are ahead. Full refund on request until it starts. The run-on and the guarantee above apply to it too.
- Your updates email is used for Test Rounds only. Your testing Google account is shared only with the developers whose apps you test: the others in your round, and the developer of an app you step in for as a replacement.
- Google decides production access; we do not guarantee it.
